The selections below offer excellent introductions to emerging visual rhetorics in digital composition. We will be exploring these modes in our writing activities throughout the course of the semester, as well as considering possible reasons behind their rising popularity. As you review, please think about the different opportunities each of these modes produces and how you might incorporate them into your own compositions. GIFs--when used effectively--have incredible rhetorical implications. How do you use GIFs? What makes them effective as opposed to ineffective?
